What's the difference between sketch and doodle, exactly? After fully moving to draw things digitally from October last year, I recently found that scribbling, doodling, and sketching is really fun. Plus thing that it's not as tiring as coloring, hahaha. Back then, I was ..uh, quite obsessed to draw things as neat as possible? Hence, I never thought that I can do sketch digitally or even drawing full in digital way. Now, it's like, "Screw neatness, I just want to put this idea into piece before I forgot," There is something in drawing things messily that I find interesting, it seems. Heck, though, even after being used to draw sketch or rough draft with mouse, still I can't get a knack if working with tablet. Perhaps I'll still stick with mouse for decade or something... Another thing that I like from sketching digitally is well, I can edit it as much as I want until I get the sketch right, the layers, and the almighty Ctrl+Z combo *insert heavenly sfx here* Like, seriously, when I tried sketching manually days ago, I unconsciously search for that button when I made a mistake orz. Another downfall is yeah my traditional art is degrading near zero now but eh. I'm never good at tradi to begin with. Basically when doing sketches, one can see how much effort I put by looking at these It goes from
"I want to draw this real quick. screw everything" >> "Prolly gonna color it so at least make it neater" >> "Wait I forgot the eyes and some little shading" >> "Oh, how about color it" >> "...giving brush for shading somehow will make it better" >> ".....mohaya shitagaki janai wa kore.." I rarely turn my sketch into fully colored work, so and in the end, I leave it as it is. Unless when I want to. Really, doing breather sketch is fun way to cope with my frustration of wanting to draw but have no sufficient time. Comments are closed.
