crepusculum Hi! Already at the end of second semester which means 2022 will come sooner, ha haha... Honestly I have no idea on what would it be, but I'm kinda look forward for the next year, considering a lot of things that I want to watch would be released on that year dang you Fantabi and Death on the Nile for dragging these two years in delay sob sob Wow, Halloween is not even here and I'm already talk about this kind of stuff orz Anyway, August somehow felt... pretty long? Maybe because I draw a lot, I think. I was in a pretty good state on the half-first! But of course, it always goes crash and burn after that. Nonetheless, I happy I can finish things I planned to finish, so! F I N A L L Y EVERYTHING IS OVER *throws confetti* For someone who mostly defying their own schedule, I'm kinda proud to be able to finish this just like I planned at the start, he hahe. I was quite struggling on the composition, because, unlike the previous ones I did for this series, where I would plan everything months ahead, I really had no idea on what kind of scene that I would draw for this three. The first concept didn't work out well as I wanted to, and I scrapped it already, so, I think I'm kinda pleased with this second attempt! Making the ambiance with greenish vibe is something that I plan from the start, since I want them in some kind of garden setting. The green I imagined was... kind of glowing yellowish? So it has some kind of warm atmosphere for matching the garden. However, when I looked at this in the finishing process... ...yep, it ain't feel warm at all. Cold cold cold. Nevertheless, I like how this turned out! Dark and cold also befitting the ETG theme along with the previous scenes I did, Done with the ETG, I wanted to move into SOL, considering I never draw the kids on this verse properly. At the very first, I only wanted to draw the younger cast in their school uniform, hence that was the concept of this very picture and then Kyle and Moira on separate canvas (considering both aren't in the same region as those kids), serving as an additional gag doodle. However, when I added Aya and Date as additional casts on this verse, I just realized that they can be split equally into three canvas. One for the kids (as I did on February), one for the adults (as seen here), and another one for the ex-XLR cast members, which I plan to draw soon. The background and concept is deliberate, with this ensemble facing the opposite side of the younger cast, so that when it got lined up, they would be kind of colliding to the center as the point. I've been keeping the WIP on shelf since... around April or so? Just like the ETG one, I planned to draw them in a constant interval, at per three month, initially. But yep, stuff happened. I don't know when I'll finish the last one on this series, although I hope I can do so around September or October, since I still have another thing to draw before December comes, but let's see! It has been bugging me for the past months that my linework not as enjoyable as it was. Sure, it is fun to have a crisp ink pen for lining, but I was kind of searching for variation, so I end up tweaking another brush setting to get used to. And that's what I did for the doodle above. Brittle texture in the line is kind of fun, actually! Still try to utilize that properly, so I think I'll keep stick around with my usual lining process. But let's see if I can use this new lining brush for something serious later! Aside from that, I was quite interested to try challenging things in flat color. It's hard, I'm stressed. Got caught up too much in thinking how to make it flat and not flat at the same time, so I was all over the place ha ha sob But I like how it turned out I guess... as a first attempt. And I've been wanting to draw Imogen in her casual dress, Anyway, I was watching Aquatope as of late and I really dig Umiko-sensei, style and her way of coloring, so I was trying to referencing that... ...and this was the result. DAAANGGGG BOI IT WAS REALLY FUN I think I'll try to practice more on this as a means of excuse to fill up my monthly quota of drawing. To be fair, it works so far. Putting that aside, it's been awhile since the last time I draw Charlotte and Mishka together. This month is their anniversary month as well, and considering I draw way a lot more proper drawing for Senryuu and Imogen, I should do something for these two, as well. And I'm glad I finally able to draw this meme, yes. The other meme that I did on the next day but I have no capability in coloring it so, later, probably. Fully aware that my color palette for the serious works in this month is somber and muted as heck, I try to mitigate it with doodling this granddaughter of mine. Glad thing she's light and pastel. This mainly serves as my attempt on getting used to the new line brush and flat color exercise, so I tweaked the sketch from two years ago. And speaking of birthday, surely I don't forget the birthday kids of this month: Yes, it's crystal clear which kid I put myself an effort into, thank you.
I miss drawing the SM kids, I'll draw them for sure one of these days. All I want for the last day of this month is chilling out before bouncing back again. In kind of struggle as well, so I mainly immersing myself in game and reading new stuff (boi dandadan is actually pretty good and I'm happy I have a solid manga update in every day of the week to catch up into), I hope I can recover fast, though! That's it for now! Comments are closed.
