Strike! Or streak, I'm not picky with vocabulary. Come to think of it, each universe has somehow a keyword, with [collide] for SM, [assemble] for AMK, and now, [strike] for STKR. I haven't think suitable one for XLR, but I want it to be something that still correlates to the three above as well as to the series in general. Because, you get subjects collide with each other in SM!, you get kids around the world assembled in AMK, and in STKR... BUUUUTT, that's not what I want to talk here, in this very entry. Heck I can go off-tangent quickly when it comes to words... My bad. When I started revamping my kiddos again in recent years, I placed them into groups, for easier management. SM and XLR are the obvious one, since they already have their own stories and settings. I grouped the youngsters into one as well—which becomes AMK now. As for the rest of other kids... Since at that time I haven't think much of them, I temporarily placed them in "Others" section. The kids from the "Others" category. It's actually hard for me to group them as one, since all of them come from different universe and created for different purposes. Kai and Kei are my UTAU, thing that I was hyped into around 2010–2013. Fleu--and in extension, Lee—are created as role-play characters back then. Kairi is my mascot from the very first time I jumped into internet, and I decided to create Sana for different purpose as my gaming mascot. While Nae and Riho... just created for fun, after a certain prompt. But then it strikes me that all of them have a similarity, which is my direct persona. No, I wasn't thinking to make them as Persona-ish OC, though, nor writing them in that kind of series. Heck, I don't even following Persona. Thought to make a laundry-based plot has actually been bugging my mind by the time I was still dabbling with UTAU and XLR. We (circle partner and I) tend to make crossover or head-canon about them, whether they are on the same universe or not, especially regarding Kei, since he's our iconic Butt Monkey Who Leaps Through Times, but hahaha, it never came into something fruitful. Remembering that and looking at this ensemble, I thought, why not reviving that idea now? So there, STKR is created. ![]() One more thing, before I got that epiphany, actually I've been writing plot bunnies for Nae and Riho's story. Even as far as deciding to make it as one shot comic. Now, as they are in STKR universe, I thought to insert that as a bangaihen, I guess. Their relationship will still remain the same, since not much happening in concepting STKR at that time. Since STKR is somehow a mash-up AU, they are still the same person. But... how to put this... Hm, their original conception indeed become the base of their character here, but they character here, in STKR, are the real one, as opposed to the original concept. For example, sure UTAU!Kai and CR!Fleu are the same person with STKR!Kai and STKR!Fleu, but here, the UTAU persona is retconned as Kai's backstory, that she was working as a teen-idol; and as for Fleu, that she was engrossed in playing MMORPG back then in her teenage years, and CR!Fleu is her persona on the said MMORPG. Something like that. Sana and Kairi, though, since were somehow blank slate and don't have exact personality, it's easy to blend them in, like Nae and Riho. Because of that, too, I adjust their age accordingly. Actually there is another reason behind these, but let that be explained in each birthday/concept entry respectively. So now, Kai and Fleu are on their early twenties, Kei and Lee are on their mid-twenties; Sana, Kairi, Nae, and Riho are the one that still on their initial age. Story PremiseJust like my other series, it will be something based on slice-of-life genre. At first, since it was a whole lot of crossover, I want to somehow make the said laundry shop acting double as matchmaking place. No joke. So, I thought the laundry personnel become agent in matchmaking the customers that come to the laundry.
If at first it was planned that every chapter has no connection to one another, similar to reset button in cartoon, and it is focused to each pair in each chapter. However, the more I write, the more it became far-fetched and something completely different, hahaha. I won't talk much about the plot, of course. But, simply put, the premise is just a daily life of a laundry owner with his employees and people around his life. Also, his unlucky love life. Since Kei is the honorable Butt Monkey, I thought to make him as the protagonist, just like what I've been headcanonning all along. Guess this is enough to cover for now. Sob, there's no sufficient amount of art for this one, I'll be sure I'll make one... I'll talk more about their design, relationship, and some other info in the next entry! Comments are closed.
