Assemble! At last. That’s what I want to say, actually. After months of procrastinating on the reference sheets, finally I’m done drawing this last four kids, so yeah, I’m happy. Taking a break for a while from another kids, I’ve been really wanting to talk about this four and, here we go. This is gonna be long, just like the usual me, so yep. Update (05/2020): Just like the kiddos’ entry, I’m going to update some sections here since there are some kind of major retcon…? Yes. Let’s call it as that. I do plan to make the birthday entries per usual, so I only cover the basics here. There are eleven wizarding schools in Potterverse and I want to place kids as some kind of representative in each school. I went with the first installment, which is consisted of seven kids in seven different schools. The reason was because at the time I revamped them, the schools which name have been revealed are only eight out of eleven. Seven kids were placed on the school that I thought most suitable for them and I already talk about them a lot here, here, and here. At first, I thought I’m gonna wait for more details that is going to be revealed in due course for the remaining three schools. I’d been meaning to wait until at least, the houses on each school revealed. However, considering that it won’t going to happen anytime soon, I was like, “Boi, this isn’t going anywhere, isn’t it.” I really wanted to locate other remaining kids for the remaining four. However, I was already too attached to the seven kids’ ensemble that it feels weird for me should I add the remaining four to the ensemble. So, I was thinking of making this remaining four as some kind of… rival group??? Boi I follow too much idol group story, aren’t I at first. Realizing that it’s iffy and wouldn’t work out, I scrapped the idea. However, I was getting some ideas after seeing some of my friends who have their Potterverse kids as alumni instead of attending students. Hence, I thought to create another ensemble with that concept just for this very purpose. The fact that the remaining three schools’ names, let alone their location is unlikely to be revealed soon, and I’m already impatient about it, made me like, “Screw it, design first, locate later.” motto. Besides, even if the schools are being revealed and their locations are supposedly far-fetched with what I already made, the damage or necessity to do the retcon is minimum, as they are already graduated from said schools. Plus, creating alumni kids somehow gives more room for me to go wild with head-canon and possibilities. Of what. So, here I go. I like making ensemble or groups, rather than duo or trio and giving it stupid name purely for fun. The Big Four, Four Heavenly Gods, or Shitennou, yeah you name it, is always being a staple joke and recurring theme in several shows that I follow, so I jokingly refer to them as that. No, of course they are not God per se, despite the wholesome OP-ish name. Don’t take that seriously. The very first image of them that I have in mind was something like the Prefect Four from Kuroshitsuji, actually! Like, they have their own quirk, specific color-coded image, motifs, et cetera since I’m a sucker for motifs and cheap symbolism ha haha. It’s not like I entirely made a new set of kids for this ensemble. I still had some blank slates to be recycled, so I revamped them here. I only add two kids, specifically made for the sake of completion. On to the details! Design(I’ll mainly talk about their general appearance here as a whole. For detailed aspects, I posted that respectively on their character entries.) ![]() Mishka is somehow the face of this four, since he’s the first one that I think thoroughly. Contrasting to Zreyn’s image color, which is blue, I made his image color red, which also correlates to the school he was enrolled on is younger days, Durmstrang. In tie to Kay’s reason on why she’s on Koldo, I was initially joking that ye probably she has an older brother that went to Durm. From the joke, it became serious, just like the usual me *clench first* He’s an Auror, and while Auror has no definite uniform, from what I saw in the films, they tend to wear coat rather than robe. Fantastic Beasts saga make it specifically clear by describing it as trench coat, so yeah, trench coat for Mishka. Hm, I was also contemplating to trim it with furs at first. However, as I thought it would be a hassle, I scratched the idea. Underneath the coat, I think he wears the standard clothes that an employee dons, so a red dress shirt, dark slacks, and a waistcoat. He dresses neatly and sharply because I like sharp-dressed man heh heh. Well, he does curl his sleeves occasionally, though. There’s no much flashy thing in what he wears… but I kinda want to give him some kind of elegant image, so I give a splash of gold here and there. He wears gloves in mission, and they are actually a last-minute addition, because I like seeing attractive men with gloves, yep. ![]() I’m very positive that there will be another school beside of Mahoutokoro in Asia since Asia is (1) one of the largest continents, (2) has diverse culture and languages, and (3) Asia is not only oriental country like Japan, China, or Korea. Point three is the most important thing, okay. So, if one of remaining schools probably located somewhere in Southeast Asia, Australia, or Oceania, I’ve always thought to create a kid from my homeland. And that’s Bayu. And I’m kinda positive that it’s about to be canon, considering that Australia have been mentioned several time by Words of God GODDAMN I CAN’T CONTAIN MY EXCITEMENT tho I don’t know when will that ever be revealed. Bayu is not a new kid, actually. He already made a debut as a cameo on circle comic that I created several years ago, so yeah, he’s recycled. Things that still remain the same however is his occupation as a teacher—which now becomes Professor, in wizarding world. He never really has in depth personality as well, so I have a lot of fun in building him for this verse. Despite called as Professor, he doesn’t work as one now. But he has a job that still related to it, which is staff on Educational Office. Being a staff, I think he is the one who dressed most plainly, just typical dress shirt, tie, and slacks. It was actually hard to think of what kind of robe, or anything that emphasizes his nature as a wizard. After thinking that he’s working in academic field and that there is something called academic robes, I design his robes based on that. He rarely wears it anyway, since he thinks it’s uncomfortable. But he dons it in formal occasions, such as when auditing. Also! I’d like to have him wearing typical batik motif somewhere hahaaa, so I placed that on his tie. He probably wears batik-printed shirt, too in occasion. Whatever that suits his mood, eh. I like to make him as the foil of Mishka, so I give them a lot of contrast. From their height, the way they dressed, personality in general, color, thoughts, et cetera. Bayu and Mishka are the one who is fleshed out, since for Mishka, it’s already clear on where he came from and as for Bayu, he’s the one that revamped, so I can put a lot of details for them. For the third and the last one, I planned to save them for last initially, since I really had no idea on how to correlate it to the schools that has not even been revealed yet. Then, epiphany strikes to write out the remaining two. ![]() I want someone as a balance, and I want him to be something like embodiment of Take a Third Option trope between Mishka and Bayu’s dynamic, so here is Tad. Like Mishka, he is specifically created for this ensemble. He’s the oldest among the four, so yeah, he has kind of dad aura hahahaaaaaa and I picture him as someone gentle or soothing in my mind. Like Mishka, I think he is dressed decently and has a slightly refined image? Hence the cravat and the arm garters. His waistcoat is also slightly different from Mishka, and he has nice shoes to boot. Among the four, probably it’s only Tad who genuinely has and wears standard uniform robe, as his profession as a Mediwizard/Healer is run by institution. Like, okay, you probably will doubt the credibility whether the person who examines you in clinic/hospital is a doctor or not when they are in duty but not wearing their uniform, something like that. Mediwizard has their own attire in canon, so designing Tad is not a hassle. I have no idea however for his hair at first, but I want it to be a kind of bit wavy. A bit similar to Physics in the style, so I tried my best distinguishing him from the face. He looks older, though, and that’s good. He’s the one with unusual hair color and that comes with a reason, which I’ll elaborate on his personal entry. ![]() Ah. The last one should be the special one. That’s the only thing that I always keep in mind. At first, I thought to make this ensemble as all-male, since I’m still in deficit of son, ha ha. I always think that the last one will be the one who is super quirky and a bit up to eleven. Like Gregory Violet, for example. They also should be different from the other three. While the concept is remaining the same, the thoughts of making all-male ensemble was changed in the middle of creating Tad after I sorting my art log and found this girl again. She was a perfect blank slate since I never gave her anything except drawing her once, but I already like her design by the time I found her again. I decided to make her as the last addition since hey, she’s the most different one simply by being a female among the ensemble. Thus, that’s Imogen. Imogen is the youngest among the four. Her magical prowess is also the greatest, perks of having different blood from the other three, as well as natural gift as a Seer. She’s cute since she’s drawn that way from the very start. But I don’t want to make another cute daughter, so I give her rather nasty personality, hahaaa. I’ll elaborate this more in her entry later. She’s one of a kind and full of mystery. Different from the other three who are in touch with the outer world, I’d like to think of Imogen as someone recluse and traditional. So, well, the old plain robe, tattered on the trim. Choosing dark purple instead of something that balance her white dress is intentional. Because purple is color that preferred by the wizardkind (along with green) and that she has no fashion sense HAHAHA so it’s not exactly match the dress she wears. It’s oversized as well, since tiny kid in oversize clothes is my aesthetic, heh. I have her wear a lot of ancient accessories too, like, rusty gold leg bangles and hair decoration. Pointing her out as someone different, by being female, having sort of genuine, traditional witch image (the color, the long hair, the mixed attire, the accessories) is somehow her integral design key. Physical appearance and blood statusMishka is the tallest by standing at 187cm, while Imogen is the shortest by standing at 157cm. I like the height gaps between these four. It’s varied one to another. As for the age, Tad is the oldest by being 27. Mishka is 25, Bayu is 24, and the youngest, Imogen, is 20. Mishka and Bayu are half-bloods, since that’s the majority of wizardkind nowadays. As Mishka is Kay’s older brother, he has the same half-blood father and pureblood mother like her. For Bayu, both of his parents are half-blood, since they are some kind of ancestry of certain ancient community. Tad is a special case, because, just like Rayne, he is a half-breed. His father is a quarter-giant, while his mother is a Pureblood witch. Only Imogen that is considered as the genuine Pureblood, as she is born into a nomad Pureblood family who never stay at the same place in quite a long time due to reasons. Hometown, Occupation, and RelationThey are hailing from different area of different continents, but they are connected one to another, either due to their past, or their present as working colleague. The only thing that they have in common is that they are employed under the same institution, which is International Conference of Wizard (ICW), albeit working on different departments. At the very first, I thought to make them as delegates from each country that they are hailing from. Realizing that somehow it was way too OP, too high-profile for them, and too good to be true, I opted to give them different jobs. Considering that ICW is magical counterpart of our UN, I thought that surely there will be a lot of branches under it and I placed them accordingly. Mishka was born in Russia and spent his childhood there, but he moved to Bulgaria since his school days in Durmstrang. While his family moved to Russia again due to his father job, Mishka is remaining behind in Bulgaria, since he works on the European branch of ICW International Task Force (ITF). I think he has the most glamour job among the four, by being an Auror, on a global-scale task force nonetheless. Yet, he doesn’t think too highly about his occupation since… He becomes an Auror simply because he’s doing it, not for pursuing his own dream and passion. Well, he was enrolled to Durmstrang due to the family tradition and he took training as Auror after graduation just because school recommendation based on his grades, which both imply that it’s not intention from his own self. So, well… I think he’s not working for calling, like the other three. He works simply for the work itself and sustain his own living. Still, he does that diligently, since it’s his nature. Bayu is hailing from Indonesia and I think he currently resides somewhere that is close to the ICW Educational Office, his workplace. After graduating from school, he went into Auror training once, but stopped abruptly in the first year, I think, since he is not used with the pressure and stress from training. Bayu likes children and sharing knowledge with them, so he realized that probably it’s his calling to be a Professor, among other reasons. He was a Charms Professor in his alma mater prior to his job now for about three years tenure, I think. Then he advanced himself to ICW and being assigned in the Educational Office, since it’s still in tie to his previous job. As administrative staff, he is no longer teaching now. Instead, his job is keeping track of the eleven wizarding schools, as well as dealing with smaller and unregulated magical schools throughout the world. So, yeah, the typical nine-to-five work time in office. He goes overseas time to time as well, though, by being a part of ICW auditor for the long-established schools. Tad is hailing from Greece. There is a reason on why I made him as Greek, since I thought in my head-canon that there will probably be a school somewhere in Middle East or Mediterranean. It perhaps can accommodate for students who come from Asia, Europe, and part of Africa, even though it’s already stated that Uagadou is the largest school that covers all of Africa. Like Bayu, I guess he’s far from his hometown now due to his job. Since ICW has the Educational Office, which probably mirrors UNESCO, I think it might be possible that there is something like WHO counterpart in ICW, and that Tad works on that branch. Something like... Ministry of Divine Health, maybe?? Instead of Office or Force. Whatever its name is. Anyway, as a Mediwizard of such a big organization, he… doesn’t tend to patient as doctors or nurses do in hospital or other medical institution. I think his work mainly deals with children welfare or going to the places all around the world that still have low health rate and insufficient medical facilities to contribute some kind of improvement. Something like a health mission, probably. Aside from that, he also joins the combat medic force, should there any case of dangerous mission involved, or if Quidditch World Cup is held. However, that is his side job, as such events are usually held occasionally, unlike the health mission. Thinking of where Imogen comes from is somehow tricky, as I have insufficient material to build her. So, I opted to make her come from a nomad family for convenience. As for her origin, she probably comes from Persia… or Iran. Her name sounds foreign enough for Persian, sure, because it’s not her real birth name. I’d like to have this disclosed due to reasons. Ha hahaha. She’s full of mystery, and honestly, I don’t have any idea about the exact location she’s currently residing in. But I like to imagine it as somewhere deep in the woods or swamp, which can make her posing as a hermit. Her real job is an Unspeakable in the Department of Mysteries in ICW. Due to her natural ability as Seer and her competence, which is scarce, I think she is recruited by ICW instead of applying herself to the job right after graduated. Yeah, she took attention of the headmaster of her old school, maybe, due to things she did back then as student. I imagine her to spend her time most in Hall of Prophecy, doing job that uses her ability as a Seer. Well, the detail is unknown due to the nature of the job itself. Mishka and Bayu are close in age and they have been befriending each other from their school days. I think they met each other for the first time in some kind of interschool championship, getting acquainted, and being correspondence friends after that. They were still corresponding even after graduated from school, and even reunited again for the second time during the Auror training. However, Mishka continued his, while Bayu stopped. Nevertheless, they are still contacting each other in regularly. Now that they work at the same institution, sometimes they drink together, or visiting each other’s place, when they both happen on nearby location or meet each other in the main HQ. Bayu and Tad know each other from the work, since probably their HQ is not far from each other. While Bayu is recently joined and Tad is one who have longest working record in ICW, I think they become fast friends instead of mere colleague due to the similar interest in improving children welfare and that Bayu was introduced to Tad by Mishka. Both Bayu and Tad are also in a good term with Imogen, so that counts as well. Tad might not really understand on how Bayu’s mind works, I mean, it's a galaxy brain, nevertheless, he enjoys his company. Bayu himself sees Tad as a reliable senior to go, I think. Although they have a considerably wide age gap, Tad and Imogen are rather close one to another. Tad was the one who somehow become Imogen’s mentor/senior and taught her ABCs of ICW in general, upon her recruitment. In return, she somehow respects him due to that. Both also tell each other stories and Tad sometimes confide on her, I think, as they are the longest who working in ICW and they have mutual trust in each other. Imogen is quite sassy toward people, but Tad seemingly one of few people that she treats evenly and normally. Imogen actually knows Mishka from letters that Bayu sent during their correspondence in younger days, but first meeting him in person recently, after he is recruited to ICW. She… holds some kind of grudge and animosity toward him. Consequently, Mishka is not too fond of her due to some reasons, so they have a bad blood HAHAHA. Despite the mutual dislike, they do act in a civil manner… ah, but Imogen also takes much delight in taunting Mishka, occasionally, which of course, that irked him in the process hahaha. Tad and Mishka are somehow being acquainted to each other since they were little due to their parents’ connections. However, they are not a childhood friends, and only getting close after they met each other in the school days and starts correspondence. Their relationship is fine, needless to say. On the other hand, Bayu and Imogen had some history together back in their school days. Not really much sparks there, as the relationship went sour due to their age difference, business, and some other things. Despite that, they are very much in an amicable relationship now. WHOA OKAY that’s super long, but that basically cover the basics. I hope. I’ll delve more in each of their birthday entry, like the others. Now that the casts have been explained, I might proceed to another topic for them as a whole in another entry! Much later, I guess. ...hm, wait, is there a new party member joining?
