Earn your own happy ending, we provide BOI It's really been awhile since I write an actual writing post from scratch. What I've been doing these past months is basically rewriting each entry into something more legible and structured, so, yeah. I've been itchy to talk about a lot of things, so, let's start, shall we. When I started caring about my OCs again, I was thinking to make them more structured for convenience. I got SM! as a whole package and I got XLR, too, at that time. AMK was just barely created, and all the personas were collected for future purpose—which would be STKR. The one that left? It was none other than Wei, the Cancer Gijinka and the June Bride. I've said several times that I had no idea on developing them into a vast lore, like other verses. But, I'm not gonna lie that I'm always itchy to see these two. Particularly the June Bride. I could let Wei pass since she is a gijinka, so it's okay for her to be as she is. But for the Bride, as I already give her an initial throwaway setting, I always wanted to give her some kind of addition. A tad detail, but not too much. She's a human, and I kinda feel bad to have her alone? And that was the very excuse. The thought of giving the Bride some kind of friends was already exists from, like... around four years ago, when I start to dabble seriously again in SM. At the very first, I designed someone, which was initially thought as a fellow bride. But I loved the design very much and it felt wasted to make it by merely being a bride. So, I tweaked that design, and she's known as FCS now. That was the first attempt. The second attempt was around 2018. When I was sorting my old galleries and files, I found an art-trade piece from a friend. They drew a girl that I didn't even remember, but I liked the design, so I thought to revamp her. That was the closest I've done to make an addition for the bride. Yet, history repeats, I liked the design way too much, I wanted to develop it better than being merely a blank slate, and now she is, fully fleshed as Imogen in AMK. Even after those two attempts, I was still determined to give the Bride an ensemble, yes. But me being me, with my own policy to not create a new kid until things get straight and settled, only let that idea floating on my mind. On the other hands, I'm collecting a lot of plushies in my room. Each has its names, either given by me or by people who presented it to me. As I'm a sucker for gijinka, the thought of making gijinka for them was also floating on my mind. But then, back with me and my kiddos policy. It wasn't until the early of this year, when I suddenly thought to fuse the two. I was planning and thinking, and in the end, I decided to add up some kiddos as a means to fulfill those two ideas I had. When... thinking about the ensemble for the bride, I wanted it to be less than any other verse, so around four or five people is just right for me. That also correlates with the number of plushies I have. THE plushies. Cute aren't them, heehee~ At first, I just want to draw gijinka and all. But considering it's not exactly fitting the theme I have in mind for them, in the end, I took their colors as the base for the color scheme of each new kiddos in this ensemble. Now! On to their design!! DesignThe bride, the main star of this ensemble. Or yes, the poster child. As now she has the ensemble on her own, I thought to give her a slight revamp on the design. Her old wedding dress was not that revealing, per se, but it did show generous amount of her chest ha ha. I want to tone it down, so I give her lacey top for a slight modesty. The roses ornament is actually still there on her dress... But her hands are on the way xhsjxhsj I should make a proper drawing of her soon. Ah, I made her garter more practical, too. Now it can safe-keep a gun. Still, though, for the big firearm, I think it was provided and not herself who brought that. I mean, the Victoria's Secret Compartment has its limit, you know. I like her boots, too. It's a hunting boots, but the color is two toned so, when her wedding gown covers it, it will only show the creme part, matching the gown. The Officiant was the first one that I draw as the newest lineup. Needless to say, their design is just me on my indulgence HAHAHAHA. Spare me, it's been awhile since I do so. I always wanted to have white-haired kiddo, like, in pure white, not grayish like Civics, so I made them one. And... Like Feli, I want other kids with bangs slightly above their eyes, so that's it. I've always wanted to make them has... this unusual color scheme for their physical appearance, so I just went along with it. The white hair and the golden eyes. Giving them icy blue tips for extra, no other reason. I really want to ramp up the holy-like image, as its their code name for being an officiant. So, I'm all down with the priest-like design. The cape was inspired from Ensemble Stars card, but I incorporate any other elements and needless to say, I'm pleased. Very pleased. Going with their motif, I'm already set to have their color scheme a cool one, contrasting the bride. So, yep, blue, white, golden. Majestic. Perfecto. I've always wanted to give a cross piercing to one of my kids? Back then it was Chem who had that, but I omitted that due to reasons. Now that I have The Officiant with blatant motif, I was like, heck yeah, give ‘em the piercing, boi. The first image I had in mind when I made this ensemble was… that they would be a bunch in a similar age and such. But, thinking that it would be improbable for the setting and that I kinda wanted to step up from my comfort zone, I decided to make the age varies. Other thing is, I want more ossans in badass suit, so I’ll be. For the Impresario, I want the best thing. He’s the boss, after all, the man, the face, so I wanted to give… this, big aura. Big affable and sassy aura. I was torn apart between making him has eccentric design, like, by being the boss, he can dress the way he pleases; or just going along with sharp-dressed man tropes. In the end, I chose the latter with a slight dash of the former. White suit is a must, and Italian cut is an obligatory HAHAHAHA since, well, it speaks of his identity. I still want to paint him as someone… funky, yet dandy? So, I make his hair long, with weird-ass ombre color HAHAHA. And the ascot, the ascot is super important. The eccentric thing also comes to his color scheme. I want him to have popping colors, so I just took my cutest plushy as the base of his color scheme. So cute it’s ironic. He dresses handsomely, but since the sass must be present, I made him wear his coat like a cape, because he’s the boss. Ahh, yes, gives him a lot of rings too, because he’s filthy rich and he has fingers on lot of pies, something like that. Yes. On the contrary to the Impresario, I want the Caterer to be his… polar opposite? Hence, he dressed sharply yet sensible. His color scheme also the one that is… most practical. Well, as black and white only would be boring, I give some hint of blue and violet, too, for variation. I’ve always wanted a gentleman!! A middle-aged gentleman!! So glad to finally having one hehehe~ Ah, the goatee is just a variation, since he looks very, very young without it. I just like to bring up his serious aura, as… he’s more or less the only sane man on this chaotic household, so that’s it. I didn’t think much for his design, since he doesn’t have quirk like the others… But I always think of Mycroft Holmes, especially the one in BBC iteration, as the base of his character inspiration. So, yes, the sharp suit, the gloves since he handles a lot of thing, like weapons, the long coat, the shawl hounds-tooth print is a must, don’t fight me. For extra typical British gentleman, I have him bringing cane everywhere. It’s… not an actual cane, however. There’s a fencing sword(?) and gun hidden beneath it, so, yes, good for knocking out someone for good. A literal protective daddy. Okay, I digress. Ah, yes, sometimes I also imagine him wearing a top hat and a monocle. Hehehe, I might try drawing that sometimes. At first, the ensemble was only these four. I just… wanted to make the Bride as an exclusive Smurfette principle. However, when rummaging through old arts, I found that there is another OC that I haven’t recycled yet. So, I was like, why not? Besides, her role would complete what I couldn’t do back then: making FCS and Imogen as the fellow for the Bride. As the flower girl, I don’t think much or elaborate as the others. She’s basically the bride’s miniature, so I give her the color scheme that close and corresponds to each other. Still taken from my plushies too, haha, since apparently, I have two plushies that color is not far from each other. I do, however, think an elaborate thing for her hairdo. I like the style and I like the color. So does the flower hairpin, I’m very pleased with that. Her dress is rather modest. Just a simple white one underneath golden translucent outer. Reflecting her name, I give small flowers here and there on the dress. Ahh, I do like her boots, too! NameAt first, I had no intention in giving them names, since I want their secretive nature left as it is. Yet, before fully putting this into an ensemble, thoughts of giving the bride name was always on my mind. It would be a hassle as well to keep calling them with their codename, might as well giving them proper name. Interesting thing, though, (sans for the June Bride) is the fact that I thought about their name first before even moving to drafting the design, like what I always usually do in creating kids. The Bride name is Esther Weidmann. I always like how Esther sounds. It's kinda old fashioned but, well, has an air of grace there??? So, yes. The preliminary names were still stemming from the same root but in different spelling: Estas, Aesthas, Esther. Weidmann is something that I chose without any preliminary one. It means hunter in German; befitting her status as the mission executioner—an assassin. When I got this name for the bride, I proceed to giving a theme naming to the others. The formula basically goes as:
The Officiant name is Nataniela Kaplanski. I've always wanted to give a... religion-related name, considering their job as an 'Officiant'—even though it's just a code name. Since they are… how to put it, has an undisclosed gender, I just want a gender-blender name or an androgynous one. The preliminary names are Natalia, Nataliya, Natasha, Nathan, and Nathaniel. At first their surname wasn't Kaplanski, but I gave that to the other one instead. I want something related to priest, so I search for Cohen derivatives—and then Kaplanski, it is. Nathan Cohen was almost the name, but it was short; also, not in a vibe with their design, and too gender-biased. The Impresario name is Yuriya Kalashnikov. Funny thing is, I had a hard time whether to assign this name to the boss (due to the overall meaning), or the mission facilitator (due to the surname); in the end, the boss it is. Yuriya obviously a play from Uriah—taken from the Uriah Gambit tropes, which can reflect a side of his personality. The preliminary names are: Uriah, Uriel, and Yuriya. I like how Yuriya sounds, hence I use that. It also makes their name arrangement not as obvious, by corrupting U to Y hahaha. Kalashnikov was actually the Officiant initial surname. When I got Kaplanski that fits more, I gave it to the Impresario instead. It was a no-brainer. Kalashnikov is a name that has strong association with firearm, so his name has this... Overall boss vibe, hence why. The Caterer name is Geoffrey Bailey. Like the Impresario, G is a corruption from J as the initial. His preliminary names are: Jeremie, Jeremy, Jeffery, Jeff, Geoffrey. I was really going with Jeremy at first, but I got a second thought and swapped that to Jeffery instead. There was nothing deep for the name, actually. It simply refers to the tweet joke I made years ago about how Geoffrey can be read as Jupri in my native language HAHA. I kinda think it's a decent name for a Briton gentleman, hence I chose that. I'm pretty sure I had a preliminary surname other than Bailey... But I forgot. And, like me being me, I just found out that there was indeed someone named Geoffrey Bailey, and he was quite an… influential man, to say the least. I’m laughing over this meta neta, because honestly, this is a pure coincidence. The Flower Girl name is Keira Hawthorne. I want her to be… somehow and odd name out, but still befitting to the theme. As she is a revamped version of an unused OC that I keep in blank slate, unlike the others, I just derived it from her original name. Her original name was Reika, and considering it wouldn't fit to the setting, I scrambled the letters up, hence Keira. Her preliminary names were Keira, Chiara, and Ciara. The latter two were put into consideration for the alternative spelling, because I don't want to sound as obvious. For her surname, I want something plant-based (as she's the flower), but still sounding delicate, like Langley (which I already used for Imogen). My choice fell to Delaney and Hawthorne, due to the similar meaning they have. At first, I really wanted to go with Delaney, and that Ciara Delaney was almost her name. Considering the meaning would be little black, black river (which is ironic, to her design, and redundant), Keira Hawthorne it is, as the final one. Choosing Hawthorne is also a deliberate choice because we already have The Officiant that named Nataniela. Yes, they are related. Premise...?Unlike the Elementals or Wei that have adequate concept but no backstory, here I gave them a slight… setting. I was just expanding my nonsense rambling from The Bride, honestly. As the bride has contrasting image, a bride and an assassin, I’m going with contrasting theme from that, which is… the wedding/marriage, and mafia. YES, I KNOW I’M NOT MAKING ANY SENSE. But hear me out. The officiant is being codenamed as such because in the actual wedding, they are the one who provides a legal standing. They are the one who made the wedding valid, because the power is vested in them. Based on this fact, I think, in field operation, this would correlate to what a strategist does. They provide a view on how should the mission executed, they judge the situation and making strategies according to that, it’s also them who decide on how the task enacted--to ensure its validity and satisfactory of the boss. Like an officiant who presents all the way until the proper ceremony ends, I think the strategist is will be the one who keep present, for controlling and adapting to the situation, should it have changed unexpectedly during the execution, and giving back up to the assassin, until the mission done. The caterer obviously correlates to the facilitator. They provide for satisfactory of every party involved in the event. While caterer in the wedding needs to provide delicacies, exquisite props, and basically anything that ensure the wedding to run smoothly, I think so does the facilitator. They provide any kind of tools that appropriate for the mission, they provide the intel, yeah, basically anything which ensure the success for mission. The flower girl is just the miniature of the bride, they making path so the bride can go all the way to the altar for conducting the vow. When the executor does the core of the mission, the rec agent is the one that would cover them up by being the sub-executor as well as direct support. They… don’t bring any weapon, per se, but their ability to infiltrate and make way for the bride stealthily is the weapon itself. And as for the boss… Well, he’s the boss. He’s the one that giving mission. He’s the main conductor that orchestrates the ‘wedding’, the organizer, the impresario. I think I don’t have to elaborate much about this. It still doesn’t make sense, I know, but whatever. That’s the setting. Whew, I think I talk quite a lot for a mere blank space kiddos.
It’s fun, truly, to concept them and all. Been awhile since I keep dabbling with the big verses that I have haha. I'm just hellbent on making an edgy concept, as opposed to my lighthearted verses, yep. Still, for now, I’m not going to make any stories, or expanding the basic setting. But then, I always jump off the “it-was-a-joke-then-it-became-a-thing” slippery slope, so we’ll just see. Comments are closed.
